This started as a tear-down. The long narrow lot presented a design challenge, but we worked with the home owner to design a layout that makes the most of lake living and their budget. A warm, pleasant, LEED Gold Certified, environmentally conscious, energy efficient, universally designed home with ample room for this family of four. Every bedroom has a view of the lake and the deck creates a wonderful perch for enjoying sunsets. Whats more, the southern lakeside exposure allowed us to take advantage of the passive solar warming qualities of the sun and an active cupola is used for passive cooling in the summer. This home has numerous water and energy conservation features and is a great example of affordable green design at about $185 /sf of finished conditioned space. It also includes a 1446 sf unfinished basement, 622 sf garage, and 720 sf unfinished bonus room above the garage. This will be a stage for generations of lake memories. We are so glad we could build something that works so well for the family as well as the planet.
